# Adding an Instagram channel

To add an Instagram channel to your TextIt workspace, follow these steps: 

1. Create a business account on Instagram. You will need to create a business account or switch a personal account to a professional one so that we can access its features.
 
Go to your Instagram profile and tap the menu icon ☰ on the right. Then, go to **settings**, click accounts, scroll down to **for** **professionals**, click \*\*account type and tools \*\*and tap **switch to professional account** at the bottom. 2. If you don't already have one, create a [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/) (previously Facebook Business Suite) account and connect your Instagram account to it.
 
Go to your Meta Business Suite desktop and in your **settings** from the sidebar on the left, click on **Business Asset**, then on **Instagram Accounts**. 3. Connecting your Instagram account to your Meta account does not mean it is connected to your Facebook page!
 
This will be your next step. From your Instagram profile, click **edit profile** and under Public Business Information, select **page**. You will have the option to create a new Facebook page or add an existing one. See these steps in more detail [here.](https://help.instagram.com/570895513091465)

4. The last step in your Instagram account is to allow apps to access messages.
  
Go to your Instagram business profile, click the menu ☰ icon, then on **privacy**. Scroll to find messages, and under Connected Tools, toggle on **allow access to messages**. Once you have completed all those steps, you are ready to add your instagram channel to your workspace. Click on the settings icon, and click + **New Channel** to [add a new channel](https://help.nyaruka.com/en/article/adding-additional-channels-1waf79v/). Scroll to find Instagram:

Click **add an Instagram business account**. You will be asked to confirm your Facebook profile. Click on **Continue as "your name"** at the bottom right to confirm and **Get started**.

Log into your instagram account to be taken to the next step. *It's essential to make sure you give the correct permissions to textit:* 

1. To access **all current and future businesses**, or to access **only your current businesses** and select which one.
2. Make sure to check the correct box for the page connected to your instagram account.

Once that is done, You should go back to your workspace and see the Facebook page name you selected:

Click on it and the page will be added.
