# Message Folders

Message Folders represent different stages in the lifecycle of messages moving through your flows and campaigns.

###### **Inbox**
Messages that have been **received from contacts**. These are incoming texts (or other channel messages) that haven’t necessarily been processed yet or are simply stored for review.

###### **Handled**
Incoming messages that have already been **processed by a flow or automation**. Once TextIt routes a message through a flow, it moves from Inbox to Handled.

###### **Archived**
Messages (incoming or outgoing) that have been **manually or automatically hidden from active views**. They’re still stored, just not part of the main working queues. If you want to [delete a message](https://help.textit.com/en/article/deleting-messages-from-archived-folder-ezzgyb/), it must first be archived.

###### **Outbox**
Messages that are **queued to be sent** but haven’t gone out yet. This can happen if they’re waiting on scheduling, system processing, or delivery conditions.

###### **Sent**
Messages that have been **successfully sent to the recipient**. This doesn’t always guarantee the recipient saw them, just that TextIt handed them off to the delivery channel.

###### **Failed**
Messages that **couldn’t be delivered**. This might be due to invalid numbers, connectivity issues, carrier problems, or configuration errors. We can learn more about why a message failed by checking the [message logs](https://help.textit.com/en/article/why-didnt-my-message-send-1qaix4/).
