Cancelling Flow Starts
a broadcast message
When you start a flow or send a broadcast message, –especially to a large volume of contacts– you might notice that not all the contacts will receive the message at the same time. Messages can get queued up waiting to be sent, depending on how many messages your channel can send per second.
If you find that your flows or broadcasts are taking a bit longer than you’d like to reach everyone, don’t worry! We’ve got some helpful tools to manage them.
From the Flows tab, click on Starts:
Here, you’ll see a list of all the flows that have been started, along with which user on your account initiated each one.
For flows still in the process of sending, there’s a progression bar right under each flow’s name, along with the number of contacts you are sending to. You can easily see how many contacts are still waiting to receive the message.
If you have an urgent flow to start but another one is still running for those contacts, no problem at all! You can interrupt the ongoing flow to get your new one going. Just click the X at the end of the progress bar to stop it.
When you send a broadcast message to millions of contacts, it can take some time for it to reach all of them. Remember– you can’t send another message to the same group until the current broadcast is completed. You can keep an eye on the sending process from your Broadcast tab.
You also have the option here to stop/interrupt the process (with the highlighted X box), and send a new broadcast message to the same group.
A Few Important Notes:
Messages can only be sent as quickly as your channel allows. If it seems like it’s taking a bit too long, be sure to check in with your service provider.
If you have a long queue and it takes more than 48 hours to finish sending, the process will automatically stop.
When you stop or interrupt a flow or broadcast, only the contacts remaining won’t receive the message or start in the flow—those who have already received it won’t be affected.
