Adding WhatsApp Templates to Broadcasts
You can now add your WhatsApp templates to Broadcast messages! This means that Facebook and WhatsApp contacts can be targeted at the same time as all other contacts when sending out blasts.
To send a broadcast with a template, first navigate to the Broadcasts section in the Messages tab:
Here, you'll see a list of all previously sent broadcast messages:
Click 'New Broadcast' at the top right and fill out the dialog box with the contacts or groups to receive the message as well as the targeting options.
The audience targeting options allow you to:
- Only include contacts who have sent a message in the last 90, 180, or 365 days to avoid sending to inactive contacts.
- Skip contacts currently in a flow. To avoid interrupting a contact who is already in a flow, be sure to check this box. Remember that contacts can only be active in one Messaging flow at a time. Need to start a flow without interrupting any contacts from another flow? Check out Background flows!
After clicking 'Next', you'll compose the body of your Broadcast message. You'll see a WhatsApp icon that allows you to select your pre-approved templates from a dropdown menu. It will automatically populate.
Click 'Next' again and you'll be taken to the scheduling dialog. Here, you can choose to send the blast right away, in the future, or on a schedule.
