Disabling a Channel

Need a channel to temporarily stop sending messages to your contacts? You can now disable individual channels.

Disabling a channel rather than removing it entirely allows you to retain its configuration and history. If you'd prefer, you can also remove your channel entirely.

Disable your Channel

Go to the Settings page in your workspace and find 'Channels' on the left hand menu. Click onto the channel's page and select 'Edit' from the dropdown menu:

A pop-up will appear, allowing you to uncheck the 'Enable' box:

As shown under the checkbox, once a channel is disabled, it will no longer be available for sending messages to your contacts. Any incoming messages directed to the channel will automatically be archived. If a contact's only URN is associated with the channel, their messages will fail with the "No suitable channel found" error returned.

Note that messages already queued in the Outbox will NOT fail and will continue to send.
